Black Russian is a quite compact plant which produces large fruits of approx. 100 grams after about 75 days. The dark mahogany red fruits are not only very unusual, but are also special with respect to taste, namely sweet/sour with a somewhat spicy flavour. It wouldn?t surprise me if the antioxidant characteristics of this variety where at a higher level than those with a less dark skin. Ensure that the plant has a strong and healthy crop before planting. Don?t remove the side shoots too often in order to allow sufficient fruit to form. Greenhouse cultivation gives the best results.
